We Built What the Industry Needed and Couldn't Find

CRIMATON was founded on a single observation: the tools used by investigators were either imported at prohibitive cost, built without field input, or simply absent in the Indian market. Forensic practitioners were adapting general-purpose tools to high-stakes investigative work — and that gap had consequences.

We set out to change that. Starting with core digital forensics and incident response, we built software from the ground up — designed for the investigator, shaped by field realities, and validated against real-world operational demands. Every feature we ship has a use-case behind it. Every training module we develop has a gap behind it.

Today, CRIMATON operates at the intersection of forensic software development, cybersecurity training, and Skill Development Initiatives — building tools, building capability, and building the next generation of forensic professionals in India.

Mission & Vision

Two commitments that shape every product decision, training curriculum, and partnership we pursue.

CRIMATON mission — empowering investigators with purpose-built tools
  Our Mission

Equip Every Investigator with Tools That Don't Compromise

To develop purpose-built digital forensics and cybersecurity software that meets the exacting standards of professional investigation — and to deliver training that builds investigators who can operate at those standards, regardless of geography or institutional resource.

We believe access to forensic-grade tools and education should not be gated behind import budgets or geographic privilege. Our mission is to close that gap — for agencies, for institutions, and for individuals.

CRIMATON vision — leading India's forensic technology ecosystem
  Our Vision

India's Leading Forensic Technology Ecosystem

To build the most trusted forensic software and training ecosystem in South Asia — one that law enforcement agencies rely on operationally, government bodies adopt institutionally, and enterprises trust when incident response cannot afford to fail.

We envision a future where Indian-built forensic tools are recognised globally as investigation-grade platforms, and where CRIMATON's alumni define professional standards in digital forensics across the subcontinent.

What We Build

Four core capability areas, all developed in-house, all shaped by the operational demands of those who use them.

Digital Forensics Software

Investigation-grade platforms for digital evidence acquisition, preservation, analysis, and court-ready reporting. Built for law enforcement, incident response, and internal investigation teams where evidence integrity is non-negotiable.

Incident Response & DFIR

End-to-end digital forensics and incident response tooling for enterprise security teams and CERT functions. From breach triage through root-cause analysis, scoped for speed and forensic rigour simultaneously.

OSINT & Threat Attribution

Open-source intelligence gathering and threat attribution tools for cyber investigators and intelligence teams. Structured collection, entity resolution, and visualisation frameworks that reduce manual effort in complex attribution workflows.

Professional Forensic Training

Hands-on training programmes in digital forensics, DFIR, OSINT investigation, and IR simulation. Designed for working professionals in law enforcement, government, and enterprise — operational readiness, not theory.

Cybercrime Investigation Tools

Specialised platforms for online fraud, financial cybercrime, and darknet investigation. Tools that follow evidence chains across digital environments and produce outputs structured for legal proceedings and law enforcement action.

Skill Development Initiatives

Structured SDI programmes, CTF competitions, and mentorship pathways that build the next generation of forensic professionals. Designed to close the pipeline gap between academic cybersecurity education and operational forensic competency.

The Principles Behind the Platform

These are not corporate values designed for a slide deck. They are operational commitments that shape what we build and how we build it.

01

Forensic Integrity Above All Else

Evidence integrity is the foundation of any investigation that holds up in court. Every software feature, data-handling workflow, and output format we produce is designed to preserve chain-of-custody and meet evidentiary standards. We do not cut corners here.

02

Built by Practitioners, for Practitioners

Our development process begins with the investigator's workflow — not a product roadmap whiteboard. When field practitioners tell us a tool creates friction, we fix it. When a training scenario doesn't reflect operational reality, we rewrite it.

03

Radical Operational Transparency

We are explicit about what our tools do, how they do it, and where their limits are. We don't oversell capabilities or obscure methodology. An investigator relying on our software in a high-stakes case deserves to know exactly what they are working with.

04

Continuous Research, Not Legacy Maintenance

The threat landscape and digital evidence environment evolve faster than any static release cycle. Our R&D function is continuous — tracking emerging attack vectors, new evidence sources, and shifting forensic standards so our tools remain current.

05

Education as Infrastructure

Forensic tools are only as effective as the investigators using them. We treat training not as a service add-on but as a core product responsibility. The knowledge gap in Indian digital forensics is a structural problem; we address it with the same seriousness as a product defect.

06

Accountable to the Mission, Not Just the Market

Commercial success matters — it enables everything we build. But our choices about what to build, who to partner with, and how to operate are governed by the mission: equipping investigators, closing capability gaps, and strengthening India's forensic infrastructure.

India's Digital Forensics Gap Is a National Infrastructure Problem

India processes hundreds of thousands of cybercrime investigations annually. The tools available to the investigators responsible for those cases are largely sourced from foreign vendors, often priced beyond institutional budgets, and built without accounting for the local language, legal, and evidentiary context in which they will be used.

Law enforcement agencies at state and central levels lack standardised forensic tooling. Enterprise security teams respond to incidents with adapted general-purpose software. Students entering the cybersecurity workforce graduate without ever having touched operational forensic platforms.

CRIMATON exists to address all three gaps simultaneously — building Indian-origin forensic software, training the professionals who will use it, and developing the next generation of practitioners through structured SDI and CTF programmes. This is not a niche market opportunity. It is a national security infrastructure gap, and we intend to fill it.
